I was raised in Seymour in a pastor’s home where life at church and home consistently reflected my parents’ desire to honor God’s Word. I came to understand my need to receive Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at the age of six. I was deeply convicted of my sin and the wrath of God owed to me. One Sunday morning after my dad preached, I came forward to the altar and put my faith in Christ, receiving Him as my Savior.
I graduated from Seymour Community Christian School in 2006. That fall, I enrolled in the Faith Bible Institute and graduated in 2009. In 2010, I met my future wife, Stephanie, at a youth revival service at a local Baptist church. In May of 2012, we were married. Just a few months prior to our wedding, God called me into the ministry. I began preaching as doors were opened to do so. Since 2012, I have served as an interim pastor, provided pulpit supply for a number of churches, and pastored two Baptist churches. Stephanie and I have also been greatly blessed
with two daughters God has given us.
God has called me to preach His Word, and it is my delight to obey His calling. I believe the Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant, infallible and sufficient Word. I believe faithful and clear preaching of God’s Word is central to the life of the church as it provides the spiritual nourishment and instruction needed for Christian people to grow in Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16). I am grateful for God’s call to be the pastor of Mountain View Baptist Church and am excited to see God continue His work here!
