    The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inerrant, infallible, Word of God and is the sole guide for faith and practice. We believe the Bible was written by men who were Divinely inspired by God, who as its Author created a perfect, cohesive work from beginning to end. We believe the Bible is the living Word of God, a love story, and book of promises, with Jesus as it’s grand subject, designed for our good and the Glory of God its end.

    God

We believe in one God, co-existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-equal and co-eternal. We believe God is an infinite, omniscient, divine being and the Maker and Supreme Ruler of heaven and earth. All powerful, all knowing, unchanging, and discerner of time, past, present, and future. Inexpressibly glorious in holiness, and the manifestation of perfect indescribable love. He is our God, and we are His people.

    Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, was completely human and at the same time completely God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin. We believe He is the only man ever to have lived a sinless life, performed literal miracles, and died a blood-atoning death on a cross for the sins of all mankind. On the third day was bodily resurrected from the grave, ascended to the right hand of the Father where He makes intercession for us, and will literally return one day in the future in great power and glory. He will return for His church, judge the nations, and reward the faithful.

    The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. As the Comforter and Counselor Jesus promised, we believe the Holy Spirit is omnipresent and resides in every believer and guides the believer in knowing the mind of Christ. It is the Spirit who brings conviction of sin, reveals the judgment that is coming to those who die without a Savior, and leads the sinner to repentance. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are born again and are empowered to become new creatures in the kingdom of God, witness to others, and live victoriously for the cause of Christ and glory of the Father.

    Salvation

We believe salvation is a gift from God, wholly by grace, and cannot be earned by any efforts or works. We believe Jesus Christ is the only true way to salvation and everlasting life. We believe salvation begins when we accept Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for our sins. Through faith, trust, repentance, and our heart surrendered to Christ, we then are saved, or delivered from eternal death. We believe God in His boundless love and mercy for humanity, sent His only Son to be the perfect sacrifice, thus purchasing our salvation and imputing His righteousness unto the believer. We believe nothing prevents the salvation of the worst sinner on earth, but their own voluntary rejection of the gospel.

    The Church

We believe the local church is the God-ordained institution for fulfilling the purpose and plan of God: To seek the lost, tell of the hope of the Lord Jesus Christ, and demonstrate God’s love and compassion to all the world. We believe the church is the body of Christ, made up of baptized believers, born again of the Spirit of God, dedicated to the re-creating of Jesus Christ in every heart and life.

    Baptism

We believe as commanded by the word of God, following faith in the lord Jesus Christ, Christian baptism is the complete immersion in water of a believer into the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is an outward expression of our lives being in agreement with God, symbolizing our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, our death to sin, and resurrection to a new life. Being an ordinance of Mtn. View, it is a prerequisite to the privileges of church membership.

    The Lord's Supper

The Lord’s Supper is a reverent, symbolic act in remembrance of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a time whereby members of the church use bread and wine (grape juice) to commemorate together the love, crucifixion, and death of Christ; preceded always by solemn self-examination. This ordinance is not limited to members of Mtn. View but is circumscribed to those who have repented from sin and surrendered their life to Jesus Christ.
