One of the most important ministries we have as a church body is music. It is truly a blessing, and gift from God. It is an outward expression from our hearts of praise and worship to our Father for all He has done and will do for us. Here at Mountain View, we honor our Creator with a variety of musical influences.

From the high energy of praise and worship to the upbeat rhythms of southern gospel and bluegrass, and the timeless spiritual truths of hymns. At Mountain View we believe if the music glorifies God, it will find a place in our worship services.

“And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.”

Luke 19:40

Music, whether sung by a choir, congregation, group, or soloist, when sung from the heart for God’s glory will help prepare the hearts of people engaged in the worship service to become ready to hear the word of God preached.

“O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.”

Psalms 95:1

Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; Sing praises to our God on the lyre.

Psalms 147:7

In the year 1690, churches in England were divided over whether or not to allow congregational singing in the worship services. But thanks to people like Benjamin Keach who realized opposition to singing was hurting the growth of the church, we now have one of the most powerful tools to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ!

“O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth.”

Psalms 96:1

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

Psalms 150:6
